New term for a new era
Chinglification is the new term for the emerging mutual embrace of English and Chinese languages and cultures. There is an enormous interest on the part of the Chinese-speaking peoples of the world for access to the language, culture and business of the English-speaking countries of the world, and in particular, America. The staggering numbers of language schools and programs, funded by billions of dollars all attest to the fact that China sees its future in a marriage of Western and Chinese culture. The unending quest for English language competence in Asia and Chinese language competence in the West is highlighted by the infinite need for translation and proofreading services, required to bridge the linguistic demands of two different cultures and languages, or what is called Chinglish.
